Biography

Approximately ten years ago, Chiquita started following her passion and dream of becoming an artist. She took a leap of faith switched gears from seeking a business degree at North Carolina A & T State University. Chiquita attended Virginia Commonwealth University, The Art League and the Art Center. She also did some studying in Atlanta, Ga. on some of the most influential artist of our times.

But it was her times in prayer that she discovered that's where her ideas for paintings were evolving. She recognized her style of painting was quite different. In those times of prayer she discovered that her art seemed to have some prophetic sense about them. The paintings would be birthed and later those things painted would come to pass.

In 2004 her sister, living in Washington, DC at the time, mentioned her work to a gallery owner. Upon seeing her work, the owner right away did a solo showing of Chiquita's work in our Nation's Capital. From that point on Chiquita has been blessed to show her work all over and has had numerous articles written about her work. But she gives all the glory and honor to God, because it is Him who has empowered her with such a gift.
